Heartland Youth Choir (HYC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing musicianship and building character through exceptional choral music education. Serving singers from preschool through high school across Central Iowa, HYC provides high-quality rehearsals, inspiring performances, and meaningful educational experiences that foster artistic excellence, confidence, leadership, and collaboration. Through a welcoming and supportive community, young people develop lifelong skills while sharing the joy of music with audiences throughout the region. Supported by generous donors, foundations, and community partners, Heartland Youth Choir enriches lives, strengthens communities, and ensures access to outstanding music education for the next generation.
With rehearsal locations in Windsor Heights, HYC North (Ankeny), and HYC East (Mitchellville), HYC serves singers from across the Greater Des Moines area. -
