WayPoint Resources Marks 20 Years of Service in Waukee and Dallas County
Community celebration set for October 5 with proclamation, music, food, and family fun
WAUKEE, Iowa — WayPoint Resources will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a community event on Sunday, October 5, 2025, honoring two decades of service and impact in Waukee and the greater Dallas County area.  The celebration will begin at 3 p.m. on the lawn of Westview Church (1155 S.E. Boone Drive, Waukee), the original and current home of the organization.
The event will feature a special proclamation from Waukee Mayor Courtney Clarke, officially designating the day as “WayPoint Resources Love to Serve Day.” Local television news anchor Jodi Long will emcee the program.
Guests can enjoy live music by the Community Jazz Center Big Band (small group), door prizes, and food from The Outside Scoop, Big Acai, and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Organizers describe the celebration as a heartfelt “thank you” to all who have served and supported WayPoint Resources over the past 20 years. Volunteers, donors, clients, and community partners—past and present—are especially invited to attend. Guests are encouraged to RSVP at WayPoint.care.

About WayPoint Resources
Founded in 2005, WayPoint Resources (formerly known as Waukee Area Christian Services) began in a single room offering only food assistance. Today, WayPoint Resources has evolved into a central hub, providing access to food, clothing, healthcare, and connections to additional resources. The organization was originally established by eight Waukee churches and is now led by a board representing faith-based groups, businesses, and community members across the area.  Learn more at WayPoint.care.
