R&R Realty Group Launches ‘Groundwork for Good’ Program with $25,000 in Grants to Employee-Nominated Non-Profits
11/18/2024 - R&R Realty Group Foundation (R&R Foundation) is excited to announce the launch of its Groundwork for Good program, an employee-driven philanthropy that empowers employees to nominate 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that align with the R&R Foundation’s core giving pillars: human services, community engagement and development, education, and arts and culture. This marks the first year of the program, with the R&R Foundation proudly donating $25,000 to various employee-nominated organizations.
Through the program, employees are also encouraged to nominate non-profit organizations that hold personal significance to them. Here’s what our team members have to say about their nominated organizations:
Ellipsis
"Ellipsis is central Iowa’s critical safety net for children in need. Ellipsis provides the care, encouragement, and skills needed for lifelong success. This donation, which helps fulfill children's holiday wish lists, is a meaningful way to show them that someone is thinking of them and cares for them during the holiday season."
Jordan Newman, Property Manager
EveryStep Foundation
“EveryStep shows up when people need them the most – no matter who they are, what circumstances they face, or how complex their challenges are. R&R Realty Group has hosted their Cheer Box event for the past two years, and it brings tears of joy each year when you realize what this event does for individuals and their families during the holiday season.”
Angela Brincks, Property Manager
Girls on the Run of Central Iowa
“Girls on the Run (GOTR) empowers girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident through fun and engaging programs that integrate running. As a coach, I see how it helps girls believe in themselves and take on new challenges with confidence and courage.”
Kirby Nelson, Marketing Coordinator
Healthy Birth Day, Inc.
“Healthy Birth Day spreads awareness and educates expectant parents on the importance of tracking their babies’ movements in their third trimester and to speak up if they notice a change. I know first-hand the importance of fetal movement monitoring and the impact that Count the Kicks had during my pregnancies.”
Kristin Sargent, Project Coordinator
Mind & Spirit Counseling Center
“The Mind & Spirit Counseling Center ensures that individuals in Iowa receive high-quality mental health care regardless of their insurance status or financial situation. This Center is a vital resource—it fosters hope and healing in our community. ”
Derek Johnson, Assistant Controller
Puppy Jake Foundation
“Puppy Jake provides highly trained service dogs to our military veterans to help cope with issues, such as PTSD. I have many friends who have had issues readjusting to life after combat, and there are thousands of US military members out there alone. Dogs don’t care what clothes you wear, what kind of car you drive, or how many bathrooms your house has. Dogs love unconditionally. On average, according to the VA, more than 17 veterans take their own lives each day. We can’t save all, but maybe we could help a few.”
Jeff Promo, Senior Maintenance Technician
Single Parent Provision
“Single Parent Provision is a non-profit organization providing a trusted partner to single parents and their families by offering programs and services to help single parent families strengthen and thrive. This year will be the 13th Annual Single Moms Christmas Dinner. I feel very drawn to be there at a time of year that can be really difficult for those thar do not have the support that they need or the ability to have a nice dinner and someone to watch their kids. The Single Mom’s Christmas dinner is a very special event. ”
Kara Sinnard, General Counsel
This initiative is designed to foster a culture of giving, encouraging employees to be actively involved in supporting meaningful causes. The Groundwork for Good program exemplifies R&R Realty Group’s dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
