IWLC CHANGES NAME TO WOMEN LEAD CHANGE
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Iowa Women Lead Change (IWLC) announced today that the 501(c)3 non-profit organization has changed its name to Women Lead Change, signaling expansion outside the state and region.

“This transition began organically as our regional reach already extends into Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska and South Dakota,” Tiffany O’Donnell, Women Lead Change CEO said. “This rebrand allows us to continue to offer world-class programming throughout the state of Iowa, but also to reach beyond the borders as we continue to work to advance, develop and promote women, their organizations and to impact the regional economy.”

Women Lead Change began as the Iowa Women’s Leadership Conference in 2007 after a group of Eastern Iowa women leaders came together to host an event laser-focused on the development of female leaders in Coralville. It was in 2011, branded as IWLC, that the group became an official 501(c)3 non-profit with a board of directors and expanded into the Central Iowa region with a new annual conference.

2014 brought many changes including a rebrand to Iowa Women Lead Change to more accurately describe the organization’s mission and allow the ability to expand programming beyond regional conferences. The following year, the Dubuque and Siouxland regions were added to host annual conferences. The EPIC Corporate Challenge was launched in 2016, inviting companies across the state to track key metrics in women’s leadership at all levels of their organizations. In 2018, IWLC hosted its first annual conference in the new Quad Cities region and was named the humble custodian of the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge and corresponding award.

“Women Lead Change is thrilled to launch 2019 with a new name and additional programming to expand our mission.” O’Donnell said. “We will launch the first cohort of the Ascent Leadership Program this month and host the Women of Achievement Awards in June of this year. All this while continuing to partner with key stakeholders across the region on valuable research projects, encouraging participation in EPIC and Women Connect, and offering cutting edge leadership development in five statewide regions and virtually through our annual conferences.”
