October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. In conjunction with the mayor’s proclamation at the October 8 meeting, the IowaWORKS mobile workforce center will be in the City Hall parking lot from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. for public tours.
The IowaWORKS mobile workforce center is a 32-foot traveling job center designed to bring career services directly to Iowans, featuring 10 computer workstations and equipment for workshops and hiring fairs. Its goal is to expand access to workforce programs statewide, quickly respond to layoffs, and support communities far from existing IowaWORKS locations.
