No stranger to the Des Moines community, she is a graduate of West Des Moines Leadership Academy and an active committee member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She has run as Woman of the Year three times and was named 2016 All-Star of the Year for the society. Edye was an active member of the West Des Moines Chamber, including serving on its board of directors.
