Event Description:
The Polk County Board of Supervisors is embarking on a strategic planning process for Polk county. Starting in January,
there will be a series of community meetings and discovery sessions held in a variety of venues across our community and the Urbandale Chamber has been selected as host for a session.
The strategic planning process will bring together county leaders, residents, community organizations, local businesses, and subject-matter experts to create a shared vision for the future of Polk County. The project will assess
current needs, anticipate future challenges, and identify key priorities that will inform county policy, budgeting, and long-term investments.
The strategic plan is meant to set the vision and direction for the next ten years, and incorporating a range of perspectives from throughout the communities spread throughout Polk County. The plan will include Strategies,
Goals, and Objectives to help elevate the work being done on high-impact areas including:
• Public Health and Human Services
• Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness
• Economic Development and Workforce Readiness
• Infrastructure and Sustainability
• Equity and Community Well-being
• Government Transparency and Accountability
• Quality of Life Enhancements
