Event Description:
MOXIE (Member Owners eXchange Information & Experience) is a group of member business Owners/Presidents who meet monthly with Christy Jones, Clarity Business Coaching, to discuss issues impacting their businesses. All member Business Owners/Presidents are invited to participate. Everyone must sign a confidentiality clause.
This month's topic is a discussion with the Business Engagement Division of Iowa Workforce Development (IWD).
The Business Engagement Division of Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) was formed in September of 2022. Governor Kim Reynolds and IWD Director Beth Townsend formed the division as a resource for employers to have direct access to programs, services, and tools to help employers with their workforce needs. The Division now includes several areas of responsibility including Business Engagement Consultants, Work Based Learning, the Iowa Office of Apprenticeship and Employer Programs including the STEM Internship Program and the 260 E, 260 F and 260 G programs.

Meet the Speakers:
- Maria Morales serves as Bureau Chief for the Business Engagement Consultants (BECs). As the leader for 15 BECs across the state, Maria will share about the work of the BECs and highlight some ways this team shares resources, tools, and programs to help employers with workforce challenges and long-term workforce strategies.
- Kathy Leggett, Business Engagement Liaison, works with community leaders and employers to facilitate work-based learning opportunities.
