March is NIDDA Month
February 28, 2017
Mosaic invites community members to attend a Discover the Possibilities free lunch and learn during March, which is designated as National Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness (NIDDA) Month. Attendees will learn how people with disabilities are living and working in the Central Iowa community through stories told by people served, their families and Mosaic staff members.
“We’ve been privileged to welcome hundreds of community members to our Discover the Possibilities free lunch and learns in order to educate and inspire them about Mosaic’s mission right here in the community,” said Carol Mau, Executive Director of Mosaic in Central Iowa. “Getting to share real stories of those we serve spreads awareness about our services in order to better the lives of those we serve.”
The dates for March’s free lunch and learns are Tuesday, March 14th and Thursday, March 30th, both from 11:30-12:30 at the Mosaic office in Urbandale. To RSVP, or for more information, please contact Brittney Ledford- brittney.ledford@mosaicinfo.org or 515.868.0623.
Mosaic serves 260 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Central Iowa. For more information, visit www.mosaicincentraliowa.org.
