Local Non-Profit, Community Support Advocates’ Set to Celebrate 20th Anniversary Supporting Individuals and Families Impacted with Disabilities with a Free Community Carnival.

Des Moines, Iowa (August 14, 2017) - Community Support Advocates (CSA) partners to promote growth and resiliency for individuals and families impacted by disabilities. CSA supports over 1200 individuals and families in Central Iowa through services such as Care Coordination, Case Management, Integrated Health Services, and Supported Community Living. Community Support Advocates also provides free art programming including an art competition, exhibition, art workshops and studio to individuals with disabilities to encourage the development of hope and resilience through the arts. Started in 1997, CSA is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this summer with a Community Carnival.

CEO Christina Smith says, “The Carnival is our way of saying thank you to the Community who has supported us over the past 20 years.” The Carnival, scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 3-8pm, will be held in the Community Support Advocates parking lot at 6000 Aurora Avenue in Des Moines, just North of Merle Hay Mall. The Carnival will have free inflatables, carnival and yard games, face painting, crafts, and cake walk. We will also have food Trucks, BINGO and raffles for purchase. All proceeds from the event will support CSA’s free Momentum art programs, encouraging hope and resilience through the arts.
