Every month members of the Urbandale Chamber come together to network, enjoy lunch and listen to a speaker to learn about happenings in Urbandale and around the Greater Des Moines Area.

Since 2010 the Gallup organization has surveyed employees and organizations on the state of the American workplace nationwide.  The most recent report talks to issues such as engagement, the virtual workforce and what employees see in the leaders of their organizations.  In this session,  we’ll take a look at what central Iowa organizations need to be considering as they begin to wrap up 2018 and start making plans for 2019.  More specifically, we’ll cover:

• The current state of engagement in today’s workplace and how the low unemployment rate in Iowa is impacting employee engagement.
• The benefits and challenges of having over 40% of our workforce working virtually or remotely. 
• What employees really think of the job their leaders are doing and what central Iowa leaders (at all levels of organizations) can do take help retain great employees.
