Every month members of the Urbandale Chamber come together to network, enjoy lunch and listen to a speaker to learn about happenings in Urbandale and around the Greater Des Moines Area.

Title: ”Choose Joy: Leadership Lessons from a Homebound Girl”

Have you wondered how to equip yourself as a leader in a world that’s always changing? In organizations that are changing? In life that is changing? 
 
Sara Frankl was a girl who had a terminal disease, but didn't let that stop her from living a life of making a difference. From being a leader. 
 
In the face of immeasurable pain and a life that was constantly changing, Sara was intentional about her choices. Sara knew that the changes we face in life are inevitable, but the growth we gain has to be intentional. Choose Joy is a journey through Sara's suffering, the state of her heart and the source of her strength. Sara worked for a magazine to make a living, until the disease made it impossible for her to work. In 2008, she started a blog to make a life. The lessons she wrote about from the four walls of her home went global with over two million visitors to her blog.
 
Sara’s sister, Laura Frankl Pedersen, shares Sara’s journey and the personal characteristics that made Sara a global leader before she passed away at the age of 38 years old.

Prepayment is highly encouraged and appreciated.
Reservations not kept will be billed.

Registrations must be cancelled the day prior to the luncheon by 12 pm in order to receive a credit. If not, you will still be billed. All cancellations must be made over the phone to insure staff is aware of your cancellation. Thank you.
